If you are a buyer the choice of a title/escrow company is often a choice that you and your agent are allowed to select.
The services of a title/escrow company are the same regardless of which company is chosen.
And fees are pretty much the same across the industry.
Trust your agent to make a recommendation to where they have had good experiences with the staff and they have a relationship with them.
In this current real estate market, however, often times the buyer and their agent will not be allowed to choose, especially if there is a bank involved in the deal, ie the property is a foreclosure, or short-sale.
In cases such as this, the buyer and their agent really has no choice, but to use the title/escrow company that has been selected by the seller (bank).
